Tacoma Link Light Rail

Tacoma Link, downtown's free 1.6 mile light rail line stops at Tacoma Dome Station, S. 25th Street, the Museum District, the Convention Center and the Theater District. Link trains run every 10 minutes, Monday through Saturday, and every 10 to 20 minutes on Sunday. The train schedule and station addresses can be found at www.soundtransit.org/tacomalink.

Sounder Commuter Rail

Sound Transit's Sounder Commuter Rail provides two weekday morning trips and seven weekday afternoon trips from Seattle to Tacoma with stations at Tukwila, Kent, Auburn, Sumner and Puyallup. The train schedule and station addresses can be found at www.soundtransit.org/sounder.

Buses

Downtown Tacoma is well served by local and regional buses. Most local buses connect through the Commerce Street Transit Center, between S. 9th St. and S. 11th St. on Commerce St. Catch Sound Transit regional buses to destinations outside Tacoma at Tacoma Dome Station (610 Puyallup Ave. E). Biking and Walking

It's fun to explore downtown on foot or by bike. Bicycle rentals are available downtown from Tacoma Bike (309 Puyallup Ave.). Walk Tacoma downtown walking maps offer five different interpretive walking tours. The maps are available at downtown hotels and the Chamber of Commerce (950 Pacific Ave., 3rd floor) or as printable pdfs at www.downtownonthego.org.

Taxis

Taxicabs are a convenient way to get around Tacoma. In downtown you can find taxis at the following taxi stands:
  • Greyhound Bus Station, 511 Puyallup Ave.
  • On S. 10th St. and Pacific Avenue
  • Hotel Murano, 1320 Broadway Plaza
  • Swiss Tavern, 904 Jefferson St.
