The Parking Forum

The Parking Forum is a service for the downtown community provided by the Local Development Council through this web site. It is designed as a venue for improving parking in Tacoma's urban center through increased communication and awareness.

Find parking for yourself or your employees;
Post notice of available parking;
Comment on current parking issues;
Learn about alternatives ;
Gather tips about how to save money
on parking;
Find answers to problems with your
daily commute;
Recognize successful strategies for parking and/or alternatives.

The Parking Forum will also serve as a community "bulletin board" to assist local decision-makers in developing policy regarding parking and alternatives.

The Parking Forum is open to anyone who lives, works, or plays in downtown Tacoma. To participate, click here ; participation is free, and the LDC maintains a strict privacy policy .

Ramping Up Downtown's Parking Supply

The LDC has been collaboratively involved with the City of Tacoma and private developers to increase the parking supply in downtown Tacoma. The LDC is contributing by pursuing the following activities:

Working with property owners, downtown businesses, Pierce Transit and other parties to identify and implement short-term, incremental solutions for localized parking problems;

Providing an interactive process for communicating ongoing work on the parking problem while soliciting input from property owners and businesses;

Maintaining data on availability of parking that can be referenced via the Internet.
